The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety

Underpinning our work is The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety™️ framework created by Dr Timothy Clark.

According to Dr Timothy Clark, the (direct quote)

The 4 Stages of Psychological Safety™ is a universal pattern that reflects the natural progression of human needs in social settings. These needs exist across demographics, psychographics, nations, and cultures.

We studied with Dr Tim and are certified practitioners in the 4 Stages™ of Psychological Safety.

The 4 Stages™ Culture Diagnostic will allow you to compare teams across time and see how your cultural change initiatives are doing. Identify patterns and create impactful action plans based on your data. Hold leaders accountable for their team's culture.

With the 4 Stages™ Team Survey, you can quickly identify struggling teams and their leaders. Using this data, organisations can create plans to address these areas of toxicity.

Teams progress through these stages as they intentionally create cultures of rewarded vulnerability:

  1. Inclusion Safety - can I be my authentic self?
  2. Learner Safety - can I grow?
  3. Contributor Safety - can I create value?
  4. Challenger Safety - can I challenge the system for change?

Building Psychological Safety and Cultivating a Culture of Care: Empowering Leadership Workshop
