This workshop is based on Todd Conklin's work and his book The 5 Principles of Human Performance.
- Error is normal - even the best people make mistakes.
- Blame fixes nothing.
- Learning and improving is vital - learning is deliberate.
- Context influences behaviour - systems drive outcomes.
- How you respond to failure matters - how leaders act and respond counts.
The goal is to provide participants with a foundational understanding of the 5 Principles of Human Performance and how to apply them to enhance safety and operational efficiency in high-risk environments.
The 5 Conversational Essentials
This workshop will give participants the skills and confidence to engage in more meaningful and productive conversations, ultimately leading to a more robust safety culture and better team performance.
The five essentials are:
- Priming for Trust,
- Ask questions for which you have no answers,
- Listen to connect, not judge or reject,
- Sustaining Conversational Agility, and
- Double-clicking [our personal favourite].
The Art of Asking Questions for Safety
Learn how to improve communication for better safety and success. Discover how to ask great questions that spark curiosity, bring clarity, and build strong connections. Explore why asking and answering questions is so important, find out what makes a good question, and learn how this affects leadership and teamwork.
